National Day of Mourning

We Pause and Reflect on the National Day of Mourning

At SAFA, we pause every April 28 to remember workers killed or injured from a work-related injury or illness.

The most recent statistics show that over 1,000 workers are killed on the job each year.1 Additionally, in 2021 more than 270,000 claims were accepted for time lost due to a work-place related injury or illness.2 Each of these numbers is a person whose life is forever changed.  For that reason, SAFA asks its members to take a moment of silence at 11:00am on April 28th, 2023, to honour those who have died or have been impacted by a workplace tragedy.
