September 12th: Update to Membership
How to Access Your Collective Agreement
New questions always arise at the start of the academic year. The first place to turn for answers is often our current SAFA Collective Agreement. Did you know that the Collective Agreement is available in both print and digital formats? Keep a copy handy for discussions on topics such as workload, leave time, performance reviews, and pay allowances.
- For a print copy, stop by the SAFA Office (NN201). If you are not on the main campus, email [email protected] your address and SAFA will mail you the document.
- For a digital copy, you can download a PDF file from the SAFA website. The website also has all of the active Letters of Understanding, as well as other important documents.Â
Volunteers needed for Committee Positions
Joint SAFA/SAIT committees are an important way to increase academic members’ voices on a range of issues. We appreciate all the time put in by our volunteers who currently serve on six institute-wide committees. Their work is vital to improve the working and learning conditions on our campus.
Currently, SAFA is looking for members to fill open seats on the following committees:
- 1 position on the Faculty Workload Guidelines Committee. The committee is especially interested in volunteers with experience with workload that incorporates scholarly work.
- 1 position on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Subcommittee on Employee Recruitment.
If you are interested in submitting your name for either position, please contact [email protected] by Tuesday, September 19th. We will then send out the information packet about committee member commitments and activities.
